Withdrawal Policy

The Journal of Knowledge Engineering and Social Development (JKESD) maintains strict ethical standards in scholarly publishing. Authors are expected to submit manuscripts only when they are committed to completing the publication process. This Withdrawal Policy outlines the procedures and conditions under which a manuscript may be withdrawn.

Authors may request withdrawal of their manuscript before the peer review process begins by submitting a formal written request to the editorial office. The request must clearly state the reason for withdrawal and must be approved by the corresponding author on behalf of all co-authors. Once the request is reviewed and approved by the editorial team, the manuscript will be officially withdrawn from the journal’s submission system.

If a withdrawal request is made after the manuscript has entered the peer review process, the editorial office may decline the request or impose administrative charges because considerable editorial time and reviewer effort have already been invested in the evaluation of the manuscript.

Manuscripts cannot be withdrawn once they have been accepted for publication, as they are considered part of the journal’s official publishing workflow. In exceptional cases, the editorial board may review special circumstances and decide accordingly.

After an article has been published online or assigned to a journal issue, withdrawal is not permitted. If serious issues are identified after publication, the journal will follow international publishing standards and may issue a correction, expression of concern, or retraction where appropriate.

Authors are strongly discouraged from withdrawing manuscripts simply to submit them to another journal after the review process has begun. Such practices are considered unethical and may lead to restrictions on future submissions to the journal.

For any withdrawal requests, authors must contact the editorial office with the manuscript title, manuscript ID, and a formal explanation for the withdrawal request. The final decision regarding manuscript withdrawal rests with the editorial board of the Journal of Knowledge Engineering and Social Development.
